We are officially on the hunt for our 2021/22 design! Tatiara’s artists, budding illustrators, designers, students and everyone in between are encouraged to submit their entry to the Tatiara Design Prize, proudly supported by Tatiara District Council.

About the Tatiara Design Prize:

Every year Council releases a suite of documents which are distributed far and wide and we are officially on the hunt to find an artwork that encapsulates the love and pride that people feel for their district.

The winning design will become the symbol for the 2021/22 Council and community documents, which include the Community Directory, Business Directory, Annual Business Plan and Annual Report, with the winning design receiving a $1,000 cash prize.

We’re so excited to see your unique artwork showcasing the love, joy and meaning that brings the Tatiara to life.

You can see some previous year cover designs here.

Tips for creating your design:

The winning design will need to demonstrate flexibility in a number of different ways. This includes being reproduced in different sizes as well as in monochrome (black and white). The design must have the versatility to be used in a number of creative applications, including posters, program booklets, banner signage and maybe even TATIARA merchandise.

You can use any images you haven’t created yourself, you must own the copyright or have permission to use them in your design.

Remember to treat this brief as guidelines only. Thinking outside the box is encouraged!

Our requirements:

  • You must live, work, study or be an active member of any of our local art groups. The “Tatiara” is defined by the Tatiara District Council boundaries.

  • The design must be presented no smaller than A4 and no larger than A3.

  • If created digitally, an A3 size document with a resolution of a minimum 300 pixels per inch or vector is recommended saved in an editable format. The design, if digital, is required to be adaptable to a range of computer programs.

  • If hand illustrated or painted, the original art must be scanned or photographed with a resolution of a minimum 300 pixels per inch.

  • Please provide a short explanation of your design concept.

If you need help with any of these points, please contact the Walkway Gallery on 08 8752 1044.
