12 June 2020 - 12 July 2020

In the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy returns from Oz to the safety and familiarity of her home in Kansas by clicking the heels of her ruby red slippers and chanting the famous words: ‘There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home’.

Dorothy was spot on: there's no place like it. As we journey through life - dodging the occassional wicked witch or global pandemic - it's comforting to know that a cozy bed, loving arms and perhaps even a munchkin or two await, just across the threshold.

With the news of easing restrictions we're pleased to share with you that our doors will be opening in June, and we invite you all to be part of our opening show "There's No Place Like Home", by sharing a piece from your home for exhibition. It could be a shoe, a rug, a chair, a book, a family portrait, an artwork or even a random everyday item that makes you feel at home.

Want to share something? Here's the process...

  1. Find something in your home you are willing (and able) to loan the Gallery for exhibition.

  2. Take a picture and get in touch by email gallery@tatiara.sa.gov.au OR text it to 0403 683 823. If you have concerns about loaning your work to the gallery, please give us a call on (08) 8752 1044.

  3. Tell us in 200 words or less why your chosen piece is special to you (optional, but it would be lovely to hear and tell your story to visitors).

  4. We'll send you a simple loan agreement to read and sign.

  5. Deliver the work to the Walkway Gallery by 5pm June 5, 2020

  6. Attend our virtual opening at 9am Friday 12 June, 2020 (more details to come).

  7. If you can, come visit us in person, when safe to do so! The exhibition dates are 12 June - 12 July, 2020.

Opening Hours:

At this stage, the Walkway Gallery will be re-opening to the public on Friday 12 June at 9am. Our opening hours will be Monday to Friday 9am-4pm.
